Kentaro Kawabata works primarily with porcelain, creating vessels, spoons, and sculptures with organic forms. Small pieces of colored glass are embedded in the porcelain clay, creating delicate streams of color as they blend into the surface glaze. The patterns and colors that emerge when the porcelain is fired are always an exciting surprise for Kawabata.
