Samir Laghouati-Rashwan (lives and works in Marseille, FR) is a French-Moroccan-Egyptian artist and performer. He is a graduate from Marseille-Méditerranée National Higher Institute for Artistic Education - INSEAMM (Marseille, FR) in 2020.

Samir Laghouati-Rashwan is an artist who creates narratives from archival work, using media such as film, photography and sculpture. His work explores the politics of space and bodies, with a particular focus on representations of the Other, the body and race in mediated cultural productions and institutional art spaces. With a tone that oscillates between amusement and vulnerability, he traces marginalized or forgotten histories and explores geographical displacement and linguistic reappropriation as testimony to systems of domination. His installations are characterized by fluorescent and acid colors, creating situations both realistic and phantasmagorical.
