About Lloyd Corporation
Lloyd Corporation is a collaborative project between Ali Eisa and Sebastian Lloyd Rees who have worked together since 2010. Their versaille practice includes sculpture, installation, print, video, social and public art, text and publications. Lloyd Corporation’s projects take abstract, complex socio-economic themes, such as capitalism, globalisation, or urban development, and render them visible and 'real' in the context of individual life. The artists’ process involves comprehensive sight-specific research, collection of materials overtime, and extensive dialogue. The artists implement found materials, such as adverts, corner shop facades, warehouse shelves, protest placards, and re-appropriate them, thereby uncovering institutional and infrastructural gaps and pitfalls. Lloyd Corporation’s continuous interchange between micro and macro perspectives reveal that the systems – of order, economy, politics, governance – are more obscure than we realise.
