About Arin Rungjang
Arin Rungjang lives and works in Bangkok, as one of Thailand’s leading contemporary artists, he represented Thailand at the 55th Venice Biennale. He uses various media in his practice, including videos, sculptures, and site-specific installations. His work is delivered in multiple, diverse ways such as cooking lessons, hosting guests in galleries, or working with marginalized populations during his projects. Rungjang is interested in exploring historical materials, breaking barriers and creating connections between different cultures, languages and geographical locations. The everyday objects he uses in his work cross time and space, marrying the rarely accessed Thai history with present Thai culture, contradicting official narratives told by historians.
