Tomo Savić-Gecan

Tomo Savić-Gecan is a Croatian artist who lives and works in Amsterdam. In 2022, Savić-Gecan represented Croatia at the 59th Venice Biennale. Often working site-specifically, Savić-Gecan creates inconspicuous installations which audiences might readily miss. Conceptually playing with themes of dematerialisation, absence and emptiness, viewers may mistake his subtle interventions as untouched, everyday environments. His work tackles the insidious prevalence of technology within contemporary society, digesting its potential misuse and the consequences of its domination within news streams and data tracking. His unassuming installations embody the camouflaged role of technology within our everyday lives.
