Wolfgang Tillmans

Wolfgang Tillmans is an artist working primarily with photography, whose practice encompasses three-dimensional installations, sound and video, book-making, journalism and writing, as well as photographs made with and without the aid of a camera. By seamlessly integrating genres, techniques and exhibition strategies, Tillmans has expanded conventional ways of approaching the medium. His work has embodied a new kind of subjectivity in photography, combining intimacy and playfulness with social critique.
