About Loïc Blairon
Loïc Blairon is a self-taught artist who works primarily in sculpture. Often working with poor, banal objects, his practice is often characterized by a post-minimalist language. The notion of the box is a recurring element in his work, in which he experiments with the dialectical properties of this object: it can be seen as both container and content in itself. By playing with scale and content, Blairon allows the viewer to inhabit and physically experience his work. Everyday objects are staged to expand and complicate. In addition to his sculptures and installations, Blairon's work includes experimental music and performed lectures. More recently, the artist has begun to make films.
