About Antonio Zaragoza / Liberal Youth Ministry
Antonio Zaragoza / Liberal Youth Ministry (1990, Mexico) is a brand based in Guadalajara, Mexico, founded by the designer Antonio Zaragoza in 2016. Each collection focuses on the universality of youth and it's deeply influenced by subcultures, spiritual and political movements from all over around the world. The brand's collections show a new and original approach in the way of dressing, in some ways creating a Mexican imaginary never seen before. Since the winter 2020 season the brand is shown as part of the Dover Street Market Paris incubator. Since its inception at the residence, the collections have received attention from artists such as Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny and Thom Yorke among others. LYM is the first Mexican brand to be formally presented in the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week and the spring/summer 2024 collection translates a positive subconscious celebration into a practice of construction and deconstruction of garments. The concepts and ideas on which Antonio is based, share an aesthetic interest in youthful disobedience and dissidence, in the cult of sacred idealism, a fixation on pre-Hispanic Mexico and neo-futurism give birth to a new form of artistic creation inspired by the restructuring the sculptural and installation processes coupled with a post-avant-garde streetwear approach.
