Uchercie

Uchercie (b. China), lives and works in London, United Kingdom. They received an MFA degree in Fine Art from the Goldsmiths, University of London in 2021. Uchercie's work explores how language and context function as tools in transmedia storytelling, emphasizing mutual influence and anti-colonial exchange among various media forms. This approach gives rise to a unique, absurdist narrative style that uses opposition and liberation to challenge accelerationist myths and rethink perceptions of post-capitalist desires and the dilemmas of post-human progress. Uchercie’s art incorporates a broad array of elements, from inanimate objects and technology to spirituality, psychotropic substances, and Taoist principles, creating a complex vision of a queered, speculative futures.
