7 Artists to Watch at the 2024 Venice Biennale

Congratulations to Docent artists: Puppies Puppies (Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo), Jota Mombaça, Sabelo Mlangeni, Sol Calero, Claire Fontaine, Beatriz Cortez, Bouchra Khalili, Daniel Otero Torres, Rindon Johnson, and Rubem Valentim, for being selected for the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Adriano Pedrosa.
The 60th International Art Exhibition, titled ‘Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere,’ will open to the public from Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Giardini and the Arsenale.
The Exhibition unfolds and focuses on the production of other related subjects: the queer artist, who has navigated different sexualities and genders, often facing persecution or illegality; the outsider artist, located at the margins of the art world, akin to the self-taught artist, the folk artist, and the artista popular; the indigenous artist, frequently treated as a foreigner in their own land.
