Under the curatorship of Marjolaine Lévy, the Fondation Pernod Ricard presents a dual exhibition featuring Farah Atassi and Ulla von Brandenburg.
These two artists, who seemingly have nothing in common except for their special recognition among collectors and art enthusiasts, are brought together for the first time in a unique exhibition.
Inspired by the title of the work by Guy Debord, a French philosopher and writer, this exhibition highlights the ability of both artists to engage with the viewer by confronting them with society and the structure in which they live. The commodification of forms, pastiche, and spectacle become means for the two artists to explore our obsession with appearances with a touch of humor and critical distance.
