Committed to the french emerging scene
Celebrating the flourishing parisian and french scenes, "Warm Alchemy" presents works by Adam Bilardi, Marion Chaillou, Victoire Inchauspé, François Malingrëy, and Mariana Hahn.
Highlighting the young Parisian scene is at the heart of Docent's promise, even more so at a time when the capital is in full artistic bloom, becoming a vibrant creative hub, and an inspiration to the world.
"Warm Alchemy" brings together a young generation of artists with diverse practices, but with a strong attachment to the atmosphere and culture of Paris. These works, whether figurative and narrative or textured and matierist, are immersed in the historic space of Invisible Collection in Paris's 7th arrondissement.

Paying tribute to craftsmanship and matter
"Warm Alchemy" also emerged from the realization that a significant part of this new artistic scene is concerned with both material and spiritual preoccupations. Choosing the term "alchemy" was a way to pay homage to the material work and technical practice of artists like Mariana Hahn and Victoire Inchauspé. The exhibition aims to convey the curiosity one might feel in the face of the magic of these works, which challenge our relationship with matter and craftsmanship.
Mariana Hahn chose to inscribe universal forms onto these copper panels, which measure her own height, born from her gestures and proximity to the copper surface. The mark arises from the friction she creates between the salt and the copper. This work of traces, memory, and communion with the material results in two panels standing before us like steles.
Victoire Inchauspé, on the other hand, chose to transcribe her childhood memories through wax and the delicacy of mimosa.

Embracing feelings and emotions
The term "Warm" refers to the feeling we get when entering the space and encountering works that evoke familiar experiences. Marion Chaillou chose to create small pieces that serve as windows to specific scenes, inviting the viewer to an intimate experience of contemplation. In these four scenes, the artist presents autobiographical works derived from daily moments she has photographed.
Orchestrating Atmospheres
Creating this exhibition was also an opportunity for Docent to craft a distinctive atmosphere and curate a selection of works that convey a similar "atmospheric" experience. Upon entering the space, our gaze is immediately drawn to the work of Adam Bilardi. This painting evokes the representation of conflict and attachment, emphasizing the significance of dawn and dusk light, which the artist skillfully translates into his color palette.
Adam Bilardi explores the concepts of love, loss, and longing through ambiguous representations of embrace and eroticism. His work oscillates between tenderness and violence. Similarly, the four works by Mariana Hahn embody a profound physical and spiritual connection with the figure, transforming it into a nurturing totem worthy of admiration and reverence.
