Ad Minoliti

Best known for her bright, colourful geometric abstractions and installations, Ad Minoliti incorporates feminist and queer theory to propose alternative interpretations of art history, design, architecture and politics. The artist combines the visual language of abstract and futuristic forms, shapes and colours with the language of liberation and queerness. The unexpected results are vibrant and playful while critical of the mainstream’s limitations on a queer body. Cofounder of the feminist art collective PintorAs, Minoliti turns exhibition spaces into bold classrooms, forming collaborations with other art practitioners to run workshops and symposiums. Her artistic practice takes real-life action in Minoliti’s quest to deconstruct canons, normativity and the established discourses.
