Biography

At the heart of Anna Perach’s work lies the tension between personal stories and cultural myths, where private narratives echo through collective memory. Her work often integrates female archetypes into sculptural hybrids, using these forms to probe questions of identity, gender, and the role of craft in shaping both personal and cultural expression. Central to Perach’s work are wearable sculptures and performance. Employing the tufting technique—traditionally used for handmade carpets—she constructs three-dimensional patterns, meticulously tufting each segment by hand before assembling it into a sculptural garment. These works operate both as performance pieces and freestanding sculptures, allowing the body to engage with the artwork in a tangible way. By transforming domestic materials such as textiles and carpets into performative extensions of the self, Perach explores the ways heritage, gender, and personal history are inscribed onto the body. When worn, her tufted sculptures act as a second skin, simultaneously concealing the physical form while revealing intimate fragments of identity, memory, and lived experience. ATELIER DELL’ERRORE Founded: 2002 Location: Reggio Emilia, Italy Atelier dell’Errore (AdE), meaning “Atelier of Mistakes” is a collective of twelve neurodivergent artists based in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Founded in 2002 by Luca Santiago Mora, the group began as a visual arts workshop for children under the care of the public pediatric health system in Reggio Emilia and Bergamo. Over time, the collective evolved into a professional cooperative, with each artist becoming an equal partner in the organization. The collective's practice spans various disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and performance. Guided by two core principles—focusing solely on animal subjects and refraining from erasing any marks during the creative process—AdE embraces the transformative potential of so-called mistakes. Their work is characterized by vibrant, intricate compositions that often feature mythological creatures and fantastical beings, reflecting a unique blend of imagination and precision. Atelier dell’Errore's approach to art-making is deeply collaborative, with each member contributing their specialized skills to the collective's projects. Their work challenges conventional notions of authorship and artistic production, emphasizing process and collective engagement over individual genius. Through their practice, AdE not only creates compelling visual narratives but also fosters a supportive community that values neurodiversity and the creative potential inherent in all individuals. ...
