Libasse Ka's paintings are endowed with visual signs that imply a positioning of the self in relation to communal life. Through his work, he examines that over which we have no control. Although his work has no substantive purpose and shows the connection to reality through detours, Ka's work is rooted in important and urgent content, such as the incalculable consequences of the current ecological and economic state of the earth, on a local and global scale. Inspired by artists such as Piet Mondrian and Mario De Brabandere, as well as the Bauhaus, African tapestries, and Oriental color art, Ka is always searching for balance.
