Everyday objects and media become gateways to imaginative worlds in Magdalen Wong’s transformative practice. Her work draws from found materials such as advertisements, social media, and films, reimagining them as “scores” or coded instructions for potential actions. Working across sculpture, video, photography, installation, and drawing, Wong creates fictitious characters who act as intermediaries between people, spaces, histories, and futures. Her practice explores how narratives can be constructed and deconstructed through familiar imagery and objects, inviting reflection on memory, identity, and cultural context.
