Biography

Much of Marina Pinsky’s work is concerned with representations of the world – both spatial, ideological and material – and how one understands and interprets them. She often uses the technology of photography, and the layering of shots that it allows, to point to the absurdity and great expanses of space and time. Her 2020 exhibition at C L E A R I N G, 'Four Color Theorem', takes its name from a nineteenth century mathematical thesis which stated that a geographical map could use a minimum of four colours – red, yellow, green and blue – to delineate its regions.
