Patrick Berran’s work plays upon the transformation of visual material through processes of painting, printing and transfer. His paintings on panel vibrate with a sense of controlled chaos: static held in the confines of careful construction. Pulled from sketches or photocopy-collage, Berran builds up the surface of his densely concentrated compositions through a series of layered screens or visual masks.
