Rachel Marsil

Rachel Marsil has developed an artistic language at the intersection of textile design and painting. Her multidisciplinary work explores questions of identity and the representations that can be associated with it. Through her work, Rachel Marsil plunges us into an intimate, colourful universe where a series of lithe silhouettes inhabit the space of the canvas. They seem to be immersed in contemplative waiting, looking beyond the visible into a world of the unconscious in which we participate.Through her research, the artist seeks to understand the different dynamics of memory and identity conveyed by the cultural circulation of images, both personal and archival, in a post-colonial, multicultural and globalised world. ...
