Through a multidisciplinary lens, Salvador Xharicata confronts questions of mestizaje, ethnic reinvention, and the transformative power of maternal language. His installations, video works, and drawings reflect his experiences of cultural uprooting and identity formation within the context of Indigenous and mestizo realities. Xharicata’s work engages deeply with memory and language as tools for political and cultural expression. His practice is informed by research and collaboration, including participation in the Taller de Escritura Etnográfica and the Inconclusx study group. Through nuanced visual and conceptual languages, Xharicata challenges dominant narratives, creating spaces that question and reimagine ethnic and linguistic identity.
