Thomas Liu Le Lann produces sculptures and installations employing diverse techniques that incorporate fabric, glass, wood, photography, poetry, and found objects. His practice engages with themes of vulnerability, failure, power dynamics, and the politics of the body, often drawing on both personal and collective experiences. Le Lann approaches these topics through a lens of playfulness, subversion, and autofiction, blending reality and imagination to create layered narratives. Central to his work are what he calls "soft heroes"—figures imbued with human traits and emotions, crafted from materials like fabric, glass, and wood. These characters inhabit his installations, inviting intimate and reflective encounters. By reimagining everyday objects and manipulating their scale and materials, Le Lann constructs visual stories that question identity, societal norms, and notions of strength and fragility.
