Wang Ye creates multidisciplinary projects that integrate video, sculpture, handcrafted textiles, and installation. Rooted in his cultural heritage, he draws inspiration from folk art, exploring how aesthetic traditions and values emerge and transform over time. From his hometown, he learned traditional fishing net knitting and is currently mastering the Hunan embroidery technique, incorporating these skills into his contemporary practice to bridge past and present. Wang Ye approaches his work with an intuitive mindset, allowing the materials to guide the creative journey.
