Biography

Will Gabaldón's paintings are based on specific pastoral landscapes and environments he has observed over time and rendered from memory, which he refers to as ‘atmospheres left in memory’. As such, his work serve as depictions of both actual and imaginary spaces. Gabaldón's series of small-scale paintings capture the essence of a space. Through his minimalistic use of colour and deliberate brushstrokes, the paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and a blend of reality and imagination. Gabaldón believes that painting is the only medium that allows for the seamless integration of colour, caricature, touch, and abstraction, resulting in a fluid visual language that can effectively communicate both the appearance and experience of his subject matter. ...
