Biography

Xin Liu develops experimental works that probe the intersections of personal, social, and technological spaces. As an artist and engineer, she navigates a post-metaphysical terrain—between gravity and belonging, sorrow and the chemistry of tears, gene sequences and astrological patterns. Her practice exists at the threshold of the measurable and the ineffable, exploring tensions and harmonies on scales that surpass everyday perception. Recent projects investigate the verticality of space and the possibilities of extraterrestrial exploration, alongside the metabolism of Earth and its transformation through decades of technological infrastructure. Liu traces flows of energy, matter, and information across human and nonhuman environments, visualizing dynamic systems that are often imperceptible. Her installations, sculptures, and digital works operate as experiments, combining empirical observation with poetic speculation. Through this hybrid approach, she invites audiences to reconsider their relationship to the world, revealing the subtle interconnections between the microcosmic and the cosmic. ...
