Danny Sobor’s meticulous and delicate paintings navigate the unstable terrain of images in the digital age. Sourcing most of his material from the internet, Sobor treats found images as archaeological fragments severed from their origins. Stripped of context, these images become open fields of possibility, calling viewers not toward knowledge but towards imagination. His canvases, rendered with meticulous attention, flatten perspective and refuse hierarchy. Figures, patterns, and fragments hover between intimacy and estrangement, simultaneously tender and opaque.
