Osman Yousefzada’s work centers on storytelling, intertwining autobiography with fiction and ritual. Engaging with the ruptures of the migrational experience, his work addresses pressing socio-political issues through moving image, installation, text, sculpture, garment making, and performance. Rooted in his upbringing within a closed migrant community in Birmingham, he unravels how identity is formed at the intersection of cultural memory, displacement, and belonging. Yousefzada frequently engages with ritual, craft, and inherited traditions, weaving them into contemporary forms that expose both the fragility and resilience of diasporic life.
