Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This minimalist painting depicts a lone figure floating amidst a hazy, ethereal landscape. The composition is dominated by muted, monochromatic tones of gray, creating a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The central figure, rendered with delicate brushstrokes, appears to be a human form holding a small potted plant, suggesting themes of nature, growth, and the human connection to the environment. The artist's technique employs a sense of ambiguity and abstraction, inviting the viewer to interpret the scene and its symbolic meaning. This work reflects the artist's exploration of the human experience within the natural world, poetically blending the physical and the metaphysical. ...

Alicia Ayanegui
B.1994, Mexican

Alicia Ayanegui (b.1994, Mexico City, Mexico) studied Visual Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the Universidad Autónoma de México (ENAP). She has received a scholarship from the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) Jóvenes Creadores in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022. Analyzing the space she inhabits, Alicia Ayanegui paints vignettes of light and darkness within the household to reflect on the meaning of stillness and emptiness. Her work is the result of the extended observation and deep analysis of her living space, which she abstracts and reconstructs into seemingly uncomplicated compositions. They act as testimony to the dialogues that unfold between Ayanegui and her surroundings. Her works tend to poetically depict and often abstract common- place objects, such as chairs, pillows, and house plants, which inadvertently evidence the person who owns them and softly reveal their personal history. “These are my things and my experiences: what I feel when I’m there, immersed in a space.” Her most recent exhibitions include Ser Ajeno: Alicia Ayanegui, Sala Gam, Mexico City, Mexico, Penumbra en mi memoria, kurimanzutto, Mexico City, Mexico, Cosas que siempre esperan, Galería Olachea, Barcelona, Spain, El carnaval ha muerto, el silencio es de oro, Nixxon, Mexico City, Mexico, Todos Me Amarán: Arte de México Hoy, Fundación Casa de México en España, Madrid, Spain, among others. ...
