Arches, domes, and minimal classical forms evoke architectural languages linked to both authoritarian histories and imagined utopian futures. While reminiscent of Renaissance painting, these scenes are transposed into speculative, post-labor realms, where a priestly class of technocrats enacts precise, meditative gestures. Dreamlike drones and subtle soundscapes accompany the imagery, amplifying a contemplative, otherworldly atmosphere that lingers long after viewing. Moya frequently contrasts these serene, ordered scenes with more chaotic environments populated by gaunt figures inhabiting elaborately ornamented interiors. The movement, narrative, and spatial dynamics in these works encourage viewers to reconsider initial readings, destabilizing straightforward notions of utopia or dystopia.
