Melissa Godoy Nieto is an artist working in textiles, drawing, painting, installation, and performance. Through her work she explores the subconscious, identity, adaptation, transformation, and environmental stewardship. Her research-based approach delves into the relationship between culture and environment, unraveling the human experience and our relationship with the natural world. Melissa has exhibited and performed in Black Mountain College ReViewing in Asheville NC, Spring/Break Art Show, Salon Acme Mexico City, Winston-Salem University NC, BRIC House NYC, The NARS Foundation NYC, MARCO Museum of Contemporary Art Monterrey Mexico, Espronceda Center for Art and Culture Barcelona, Pictoplasma Berlin Germany, and Musée Régional d’art Contemporain Sérignan, France. Her largest work to date is currently on a world tour with the band Blonde Redhead. Melissa graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. She is based in New York City, and Oaxaca Mexico. ...
