Cárdenas’s interdisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, video animation, and murals, crafting immersive environments where the tangible and the imaginary intertwine. His work draws deeply from pre-Columbian art and European modernism—two distant yet perceptually transformative traditions—fusing realism and abstraction into compositions rich in ancestral symbolism that point toward a mysterious, uncertain future.
