Description
This sculptural artwork features a glass-enclosed diorama depicting a silhouetted urban landscape. The composition is dominated by angular, geometric shapes and forms, creating a visually striking and minimalist aesthetic. The monochromatic tones of black and white give the piece a stark, almost architectural quality, emphasizing the interplay of light and shadow. The subject matter appears to be a stylized representation of a cityscape, with small figures moving through the urban environment. The artist's use of shadow and silhouette lends the work a theatrical quality, inviting the viewer to contemplate the relationship between the individual and the built environment. This piece likely reflects the artist's exploration of modernist and avant-garde design principles within the medium of sculpture. ...
Shahryar Hatami
Shahryar Hatami forms quiet yet charged visual worlds, where soft-toned, abstract forms hover between presence and disappearance. Often working with pastel and acrylic on paper, he develops visual spaces where organic shapes float in undefined environments, evoking both intimacy and ambiguity. The forms he depicts — at once familiar and enigmatic — suggest a world suspended between the concrete and the imaginary. While minimal in appearance, the works carry a contemplative weight, inviting viewers to linger in their quiet tension. Through this pared-down yet evocative approach, Hatami contributes to a broader conversation in contemporary Iranian art about form, presence, and the psychological dimensions of seeing. ...
