Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This surreal painting features a bold, vibrant color palette with a mix of abstract and representational elements. The composition is centered around a pink circular shape that resembles an eye, with a small planet visible within it. Beneath this, a yellow building with windows sits on a grassy field, topped by a whimsical horse-like creature. Other fantastical elements, such as amorphous organic forms and a figure in a reclined position, add to the dreamlike, imaginative quality of the artwork. The artist's distinctive style blends surrealism with a sense of playfulness, inviting the viewer to engage with the piece's symbolic and narrative possibilities. ...

Vittorio Brodmann
B.1987, Swiss

Vittorio Brodmann’s art pulses with a vibrant tension between expressive figuration and surreal abstraction, using humor and exaggerated gestures to delve into identity, perception, and the absurd quirks of human nature. His vivid, often distorted anthropomorphic figures inhabit scenes that feel both familiar and unsettling—engaged in everyday yet dysfunctional acts that challenge how we see the body and psyche, inviting viewers to question the boundaries between reality and imagination. Brodmann's work draws from a diverse range of influences, including comic strips, slapstick humor, and surrealist automatism, blending elements of popular culture with art historical references. This fusion creates a visual language that is both playful and unsettling, inviting viewers to confront the complexities of human experience through a lens of absurdity and exaggeration. In recent years, Brodmann has expanded his practice to include larger canvases, allowing for more expansive compositions that maintain the intimate and expressive qualities of his earlier works. Through this evolution, he continues to push the boundaries of figurative painting, engaging with contemporary concerns while maintaining a distinctive and personal artistic voice. ...
