Historical research and literature, specifically the writings of Herman Melville, William Faulkner and Thomas Bernard, form the spine of Beasley’s artistic practice. She extracts fragments, visual ‘images’ from her literary sources – by nature non-visual – articulating them through the forms of sculpture, installation, text and photography.
