1986 , British

Through the overlaying of the exaggerated, absurdist perspectives over accepted narratives, be they historical, social or political, Watson reveals the inner-absurdity of that which is familiar. His grotesque papier-mâché sculptures and video works often feature his own, sometimes duplicated, portrait or body, situating himself as a material, both object and subject, of his work. The running theme of Watson’s absurdist pieces is jovial pleasure manifested through pop songs, humour and mockery, while at the centre of it is the continuous process of testing one's beliefs. ...
