The artist has skillfully incorporated these organic materials to create a unique and captivating timepiece that evokes a sense of tranquility and connection to the natural world. ...

Kris Lemsalu and Teruko Kushi both have independent practices, yet for the Basel Social Club 2023, they created two collaborative clocks. The pieces draw on both of the artists’ attraction to otherworldly narratives and their material overlaps in fabrication and sculpture. Rams horns, seashells and minuscule birds adorn these rusted clocks, conjuring an uncanny mixture of natural and mechanical realms. Maru and TBC are created with copper plated steel, porcelain, bronze and aluminium clock hardware, merging Lemsalu and Kushi's material palletes.
