Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork depicts a sparse, industrial-style interior space with exposed brick walls and concrete floors. The prominent visual elements are the white plastic chairs and tables, which stand in contrast to the worn, weathered surroundings. The overall composition suggests a sense of utilitarian functionality, with the furniture arranged in a practical, minimal manner. The subject matter appears to be a neglected or abandoned room, perhaps once used for gatherings or events. The style and technique employed convey a sense of decay and impermanence, hinting at the transient nature of the space. The context of this work might suggest a commentary on the impermanence of human habitation or the repurposing of forgotten spaces. ...

Oscar Murillo
Artist
Oscar Murillo
B.1986, Colombian

Oscar Murillo’s work is situated – or perhaps un-situated and unfixed – within the notion of cultural and geographical displacement. Through the scope of his own biography, ancestry and migratory passage, Murillo traces mercantile histories, contemporary trade procedures and the global exchange of people and goods. With the context of capitalism, globalisation, neoliberalism and trade seeping into every brushstroke or sculpture made from corn and clay, the realisation of Murillo’s artworks is an act of labour and accumulation which mirrors its own subject matter. His dynamic paintings are a representation of a layering process, of cumulative mark-making that can be considered a documentation of their own conception and an archive of the artist’s relationship with his materials. ...
