Paula Henrike Herrmann (b. 1993, Bern) lives and works in Basel and Zurich. Herrmann deconstructs images through painting and collage and their overlaps. Constantly thinking about counteracting predetermined narratives and expectations in her work by drawing the motifs and narratives in her surroundings and everyday life. Herrmann's work disrupts the fixed nature of images, challenging their inherent meanings and allowing for alternative interpretations. She is also one of the founding members of an artist collective, Natalie Portman, who aims to create moments of friction and contamination between worlds and people. Their work blurs the authorship and the public by creating new situations of encounter. The last formats of the Natalie Portman collective have been presented at the Swiss Performance Art Award in Luzern, Centre d'Art de Neuchatel, Kunsthalle Sankt Gallen, or the Istituto Svizzero Rome. ...
