Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a large, irregular composition composed of torn and crumpled black paper. The dominant monochrome palette creates a striking visual impact, with the jagged edges and overlapping layers adding a sense of depth and texture. The raw, abstract nature of the piece suggests a focus on materiality and the expressive potential of the medium. While the subject matter is not immediately recognizable, the artwork's powerful, emotive presence invites the viewer to engage with its tactile, evocative qualities. The artist's intention may have been to explore themes of fragmentation, impermanence, or the expressive capacity of seemingly mundane materials. ...

Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s work is a ‘techno-somatic variant of institutional critique, an examination of the body and the biopowers inscribed into and projected onto it. Meineche Hansen’s research picks away at the intersections that separate human bodies, surveillance and capital. A frequent focal point for the artist is the pornography industry and the ways in which the gender binary is propagated and proliferated by virtual adult entertainment. The materials used by Meineche Hansen to realise her outcomes, CGI animations, virtual reality, woodcut prints and sculpture, combine cutting edge technology with manual craft. Sculptures such as Public Sculpture (Everything is personal Data) (2019) appear in the space as physical manifestations, or the anachronistic detritus of the 3D modelled digital worlds the artist creates. ...
