Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a simple, yet striking design composed of a pair of golden hooks against a stark white background. The hooks' elongated, curved shapes create a visually striking and minimalist composition, drawing the viewer's attention to the elegant form and craftsmanship. The golden color and hammered texture of the hooks suggest a sense of warmth and artisanal quality. This piece could be interpreted as a commentary on the relationship between utility and aesthetic, challenging the viewer to consider the beauty inherent in everyday objects. The artist's intention may have been to encourage a closer examination of the ordinary and to find meaning in the seemingly mundane. ...

Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s work is a ‘techno-somatic variant of institutional critique, an examination of the body and the biopowers inscribed into and projected onto it. Meineche Hansen’s research picks away at the intersections that separate human bodies, surveillance and capital. A frequent focal point for the artist is the pornography industry and the ways in which the gender binary is propagated and proliferated by virtual adult entertainment. The materials used by Meineche Hansen to realise her outcomes, CGI animations, virtual reality, woodcut prints and sculpture, combine cutting edge technology with manual craft. Sculptures such as Public Sculpture (Everything is personal Data) (2019) appear in the space as physical manifestations, or the anachronistic detritus of the 3D modelled digital worlds the artist creates. ...
