Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork displays a geometric composition of beige and white tiles, creating a visually striking pattern. The overall design features a symmetrical arrangement of interlocking shapes and forms, with varying shades of neutral tones adding depth and texture to the piece. The artist has skillfully utilized the inherent properties of the tile material, such as its natural veining and subtle variations, to enhance the visual interest of the work. The artwork's minimalist and abstract quality suggests an exploration of the relationship between geometry, materiality, and the interplay of light and shadow, hinting at the artist's intention to create a meditative, contemplative experience for the viewer. ...

Simon Petepiece works directly with construction materials and processes to explore the symbolic qualities embedded in architectural spaces. Drawing on his background as an architect, his practice centers on materiality, both in the physical assembly of his sculptures and in his constructed drawings that engage with perspective conventions. Primarily using drywall and steel studs—elements typically hidden within walls—Petepiece reveals the evocative potential of these unseen materials. His work spans sculpture, painting, and drawing, investigating how the built environment captures and reflects cultural beliefs, values, and histories. Petepiece integrates the language of construction materials with forms and details inspired by religious architecture. He delves into the iconography and narratives of Christian spaces, connecting them with devotional painting and sculpture. Furniture, windows, and columns in his work take on anthropomorphic qualities, becoming vessels of sacred meaning and imbuing the architectural elements with spiritual significance. ...
