Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a striking abstract composition of geometric shapes and forms in shades of beige and ivory. Tai Shani
1976

Existing in-between the familiar and unfamiliar, Tai Shani’s sculptural installations depict and explore fantastical utopias, post-patriarchal realities and the structure of subjectivity. The artist explores the feminine otherness in works such as DC: Semiramis (2018), in which Shani adapted Christine de Pizan’s pioneering feminist book The Book of the City of Ladies (1405). Joint 2019 Turner Prize winner, alongside artists Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Helen Cammock and Oscar Murillo, Shani experiments with shapes and scales, speaking the language of excess in the shades of pink and purple. ...
