Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork is a vibrant and dynamic collage that features the female figure prominently. The composition is densely layered with a variety of textures, shapes, and colors, creating a sense of movement and energy. The central figures, depicted in various poses, are rendered in a stylized, abstract manner, with the use of bold colors and patterns adding to the overall visual impact. The artist employs a distinctive technique that combines elements of collage, drawing, and painting, resulting in a visually striking and conceptually intriguing work. The historical context or the artist's intention behind the piece suggests a exploration of themes related to the human form, gender, and the interplay between the physical and the abstract. ...

Hayv Kahraman
Artist
Hayv Kahraman
1981 , Iraqi

Hayv Kahraman is an Iraqi artist whose practice encompasses painting, performance and sculpture. Her practice engages with gender identity and the patriarchy that she perceives within her own culture, as well as the Othering of the diasporic subject who has been displaced from their homeland. Kahraman’s paintings are formally beautiful, fragile and subtly painted onto linen or wooden board. But while subjects sometimes hold the gaze of their viewer, they are undeniably subdued and mournful. In recent work, the artist has depicted contorted female figures, their arms and legs akimbo, demonstrating the subjugation and manipulation of their bodies. These works are also a rumination on the simultaneous invisibility and visibility, the dehumanisation and amalgamation of migrants. ...
