Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This enigmatic sculpture displays a weathered, organic form that appears to be a vessel or receptacle. The composition features an irregular, asymmetrical shape crafted from a dark, textured material, possibly ceramic or bronze. The piece's undulating, sculptural qualities create a sense of movement and fluidity, evoking natural forms such as rocks, shells, or a carved wooden bowl. The artist's use of an abstract, non-representational style invites the viewer to engage with the artwork's materiality and form, prompting contemplation on the relationship between function, nature, and artistic expression. ...

Diane García Ramos

Diane García Ramos is a Chicanx artist, living and working in “Montreal”. Their practice weaves a narrative shaped by their Mexican heritage and experiences living across major cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. They graduated with a BA in Psychology from Concordia University in 2022, where they received formal training in Ceramics. García Ramos seeks to archive themes of impersonation and otherness experienced as part of the Latinx diaspora. Their work — influenced by a queer and neurodivergent perspective — delves into the intersections of science fiction and prehistory, echoing paradoxical themes of transience and resilience. García Ramos works as a studio production assistant and ceramics technician, and aspires to establish an artist residency supporting BIPOC craftspeople in Canada. ...
