Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This ceramic piece features a dark, earthy tone with a textured, cracked surface, creating an abstract, organic composition. The central portion is a mottled, irregular shape surrounded by a raised, ridged rim that gives the work a sense of depth and movement. The irregularity and imperfections in the surface suggest a focus on process and materiality, characteristic of the artist's unique ceramic technique. This work likely reflects the artist's intention to explore the interplay between form, texture, and the inherent properties of the clay medium, creating a captivating and introspective artistic expression. ...

Diane García Ramos

Diane García Ramos is a Chicanx artist, living and working in “Montreal”. Their practice weaves a narrative shaped by their Mexican heritage and experiences living across major cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. They graduated with a BA in Psychology from Concordia University in 2022, where they received formal training in Ceramics. García Ramos seeks to archive themes of impersonation and otherness experienced as part of the Latinx diaspora. Their work — influenced by a queer and neurodivergent perspective — delves into the intersections of science fiction and prehistory, echoing paradoxical themes of transience and resilience. García Ramos works as a studio production assistant and ceramics technician, and aspires to establish an artist residency supporting BIPOC craftspeople in Canada. ...
