Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a vibrant palette of warm, intense colors, including shades of orange, red, and yellow, which are applied in a dynamic, abstract composition. The shapes and forms are amorphous, creating a sense of movement and energy. The overall style suggests an expressionistic approach, with the artist's brushstrokes and use of color conveying a strong emotional resonance. Ioanna Limniou
B.1987, Greek

Ioanna Limniou merges figurative and still-life imagery with an expressionistic sensibility. Her work explores memory, perception, and the relationships between humans, animals, and the natural world. By layering oils, crayons, and watercolor pencils, she creates compositions that evoke introspection, nostalgia, and the subtle rhythms of daily life. Her practice evolves through ongoing observation and reflection, connecting personal experiences with broader social and environmental contexts. Limniou transforms conventional subjects into contemplative spaces where color, form, and gesture convey emotion, narrative, and interconnectedness. Drawing inspiration from Greek tradition, literature, and urban and rural environments, her work constructs a visual language that celebrates coexistence and the tender interplay between beings in their surroundings. Limniou’s compositions are both intimate and universal, inviting viewers to reflect on the cycles of life, memory, and relationality. Her oeuvre foregrounds the dialogue between material, body, and environment. Through her layered, expressive approach, Limniou creates works that encourage contemplation, fostering awareness of the subtle connections that shape human experience and our place in the natural world. ...

The Breeder
Athens

The Breeder gallery was formed organically from The Breeder magazine due to the need of Athenian artists to promote international dialogue. Over the last 20 years The Breeder has been a pioneer in the development of the contemporary art scene in Athens. They show art that is relevant to our times and promote a select group of Greek artists on the global arena while also showing cutting edge international artists. The Breeder serves as a link that connects cultures and supports a deeper exchange. They support their community by providing an active platform for the exchange of ideas and ideals. In 2019 they introduced The Breeder Open Studio initiative, where the gallery is available to invited artists prior to their show. Working onsite the artists have the opportunity to engage with the audience in more substantial ways. Invited artists of the Breeder Open studio, include Ariana Papademetropoulos, Chioma Ebinama, Joy Labinjo, Ekene Stanley Emecheta, Victor Ubah, Barry Yusufu and Adegboyega Adesina. ...
