Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This vibrant contemporary artwork features a striking visual composition. The dominant colors of red, orange, and pink create a bold and dynamic backdrop, complemented by geometric shapes and patterns. Two figures, one in a bright yellow outfit and the other in a dark, patterned dress, sit in the foreground, their poses and expressions suggesting a narrative or emotional exchange. The artist's distinctive use of color, shape, and stylized representation imbues the piece with a playful, surreal quality, hinting at underlying social or psychological themes. Artist
Jannis Varelas
1977 , Greek

Jannis Varelas highlights the often overlooked details in everyday items. By blending realistic images with abstract ideas, his paintings dive into familiar scenes filled with detailed, collage-like additions. He pieces together reality from various situations: like digging up old artifacts, he shows us moments of life through a mix of unrelated items. We see things like a lighter on a pack of cigarettes, a small cloth that looks like a mystical creature, or leftover food shaped like a smiling face. When looked at in a certain way, these simple items suggest a different story, hinting at a world of new possibilities. The images in Varelas’ art remind us of spontaneous painting or children's drawings, made more lively by the artist’s energetic and passionate style. His work talks about society's challenges and humanity's place in history, but he does this through hints and clues, following his own unpredictable thoughts. ...

The Breeder
Athens

The Breeder gallery was formed organically from The Breeder magazine due to the need of Athenian artists to promote international dialogue. Over the last 20 years The Breeder has been a pioneer in the development of the contemporary art scene in Athens. They show art that is relevant to our times and promote a select group of Greek artists on the global arena while also showing cutting edge international artists. The Breeder serves as a link that connects cultures and supports a deeper exchange. They support their community by providing an active platform for the exchange of ideas and ideals. In 2019 they introduced The Breeder Open Studio initiative, where the gallery is available to invited artists prior to their show. Working onsite the artists have the opportunity to engage with the audience in more substantial ways. Invited artists of the Breeder Open studio, include Ariana Papademetropoulos, Chioma Ebinama, Joy Labinjo, Ekene Stanley Emecheta, Victor Ubah, Barry Yusufu and Adegboyega Adesina. ...
