Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a striking visual composition. The canvas is divided into two distinct sections - a dark, moody background with hints of green and blue, and a central focus on a weathered leather belt. The belt's buckle and hardware are rendered in meticulous detail, creating a sense of tactility and materiality. The use of warm, earthy tones in the belt against the cooler hues of the background suggests a juxtaposition of natural and man-made elements. The artist's precise brushwork and attention to texture contribute to an overall sense of depth and dimension within the piece. The context of this work likely explores themes of utility, functionality, and the relationship between the organic and the manufactured. ...

Scott Young excavates images, materials and motifs from a variety of sources, spanning from art history to design and fashion. His deceptive paintings sit comfortably between image and object, the domestic and the industrial, the decorative and the pragmatic. Borrowing techniques from 19th-century still-life painting, his works contain resonances of past image worlds while simultaneously creating new constellations, to propose a painterly vocabulary strongly informed by our (post-)digital condition. ...

V.O Curations
London

V.O Curations is an arts organisation dedicated to supporting emerging and underrepresented artists through an innovative and critically-engaged programme. Founded in 2019 by Zina Vieille and Nnamdi Obiekwe, V.O Curations believes that to curate is to approach all aspects of the programme - residencies, exhibitions, events and studio spaces - with care. V.O Curations spans two locations in Mayfair and Tower of London, and currently hosts over 250 artists and thinkers in affordable studios, responding to the changing ways in which they are working and the acute rent increases in the capital. In January 2021, V.O Curations opened its headquarters at 56 Conduit Street, which is the site for its residency and exhibition programme, alongside 70 artist studios. This location in Mayfair reinforces V.O’s commitment to connecting emerging artists to distinctive networks and resources. ...
