Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a striking, organic sculpture composed of intertwining, moss-covered forms. The prominent shapes resemble tangled roots or branches, with a natural, weathered appearance accentuated by the mottled green and gray hues. The overall composition appears fluid and dynamic, creating a sense of growth and movement. The artist's technique likely involved sculpting the piece from a solid material, such as stone or metal, and allowing natural elements to gradually transform its surface over time. This work may explore themes of nature, decay, and the cyclical nature of life, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between human intervention and natural processes. ...

B.1993, Mexican

Ana Victoria Pacheco (b. 1993, Oaxaca). Lives and works in Brussels. Her practice is rooted in experimental music and composition, also using ceramic and 3D animation. Her work, often described as eclectic and energetic, draws inspiration from mythological crossbreeding, prehispanic technologies and interactions between human and non-human. In a syncretic way, she combines heterogeneous or fortuitous elements like ceramics to produce her sound performances and installations. She studied at La Esmeralda in CDMX before graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Villa Arson in France in 2017. She has performed with her own instruments in numerous international festivals, galleries and institutions such as: PEANA hosted by Public Gallery for the 2024 edition of Condo in London, UK; Sólida, Oaxaca, MX; Gaudeamus Festival, Utrecht, NL; Galerie Nordenhake, CDMX, MX; Hacer Noche, Oaxaca, MX; Amare, The Hague, NL. She has participated in residencies such as iii (instruments inventors initiative) at the Hague, NL; and EKWC in Oisterwijk, NL. ...

PEANA
Mexico City

Since its opening in 2017, PEANA has served as a platform for multidisciplinary production and research of emerging Mexican contemporary art, with a strong emphasis on experimental practices. A recurring characteristic of the artists they support is the continuous evolution of the artistic lineage of conceptual rigorously expressions that are grounded in the plasticity of the artwork’s materiality. Through its off-site and group exhibitions PEANA is interested in the curatorial practice as cultural synthesis that bridges historicized art practices to emerging ones from Mexico and abroad. ...
