Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This mixed-media artwork features a striking contrast of materials and textures. The central element is a dark, hairy form, possibly a cap or mask, sewn together with visible stitching. Vibrant blue and green tones accent the matte black surface, while strips of lighter, wooden-like material radiate outward, creating a visually striking and tactile composition. The artwork seems to explore the interplay between natural and synthetic elements, as well as the boundaries between function and artistic expression. The artist's intention may be to challenge conventional notions of headwear or to evoke a sense of mysticism and cultural tradition. ...

Yohan Hàn

Yohan Han's artistic practice encompasses both sculpture and performance, traversing a variety of creative mediums. His deliberate interventions in communal structures and systemic spaces teeter between lighthearted inventiveness and deep introspection. Critically examining the profound changes driven by our escalating reliance on technology, Han aims to uncover the foundational facets of human embodiment through pure manifestations of behavior, dance, and gesture. His practice prominently encourages dialogue, using choreographic designs and interactive tools to reveal the inherent performative capacities within sculptural and functional arenas. For instance, his 'Graft' series (2022) is emblematic, evoking the aesthetics of traditional Korean drums. Constructed from carefully sewn animal hides and enriched with thick layers of paint, the tangible nature of these pieces suggests an intertwined physicality. These art constructs, designed to reverberate to the rhythmic touch of musicians, subtly draw parallels with the contemporary choreography of digital touch—fingers gliding over touchscreens and keyboards. Through these innovative works, Han offers incisive reflections on the sensorial continuum of an existence bridging the palpable with the digital. ...
