Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features the text "DOCENT" prominently displayed in a simple, minimalist style. The composition is stark, with the white text contrasting sharply against the plain white background. The clean, typographic approach suggests a focus on conceptual meaning rather than expressive visual elements. This piece likely explores the role and function of the docent, or art guide, in the contemporary art context, perhaps questioning the purpose or authority of such mediators between artwork and audience. The artist's intention may be to prompt reflection on the nature of art interpretation and the dynamics of art viewing experiences. ...

Yohan Han's artistic practice encompasses both sculpture and performance, traversing a variety of creative mediums. His deliberate interventions in communal structures and systemic spaces teeter between lighthearted inventiveness and deep introspection. Critically examining the profound changes driven by our escalating reliance on technology, Han aims to uncover the foundational facets of human embodiment through pure manifestations of behavior, dance, and gesture. His practice prominently encourages dialogue, using choreographic designs and interactive tools to reveal the inherent performative capacities within sculptural and functional arenas. For instance, his 'Graft' series (2022) is emblematic, evoking the aesthetics of traditional Korean drums. Constructed from carefully sewn animal hides and enriched with thick layers of paint, the tangible nature of these pieces suggests an intertwined physicality. These art constructs, designed to reverberate to the rhythmic touch of musicians, subtly draw parallels with the contemporary choreography of digital touch—fingers gliding over touchscreens and keyboards. Through these innovative works, Han offers incisive reflections on the sensorial continuum of an existence bridging the palpable with the digital. ...

Paris

Parliament Gallery, founded in 2020, resembles a desire to rethink the function of the art gallery by formulating new proposals of audience interaction with the artwork and visibility to a new generation of french and international artists. Parliament wishes to build through a program that is dedicated to the circulation of ideas and collective reflection. The exhibition program will be interspersed with punctual “Interludes”, archive exhibitions and retrospectives, aiming to put into perspective the transdisciplinary character of creation.
